Every cartridge's shell, label and board are checked for authenticity when it comes into the store, and it's tested before it's listed. It ships in a collector's bag or a hard plastic case.

Item Description

Waking up in Satellite with no memory and a Duel Runner that will not start is a rough beginning for any duelist, but that is where Konami's 2009 World Championship entry drops you. Built around the 5D's era of the anime, it puts Synchro Summoning and Turbo Duels front and center, and this is the original Japanese release of the game.

Story Mode is the heart of it. You create your own duelist, choosing name, gender and look, then get taken in by Rally and his friends in the Satellite slums. Yusei helps you repair your Duel Runner's engine, and the journey carries you from Satellite into Neo Domino City, through a stint in the detention center, the Fortune Cup tournament and a showdown with Jack Atlas, as the plot around Rex Goodwin and the Signers unfolds. Turbo Duels play out on the move with Speed Spells, the special Spell Cards that define the 5D's riding duels.

With roughly 2,800 playable cards, including the Crimson Crisis booster, it was the most robust World Championship card pool to date. Deck construction and timing matter more than reflexes, and with a card pool that large, building and tuning decks around the newest Synchro strategies of the era is a project all its own. Beyond the story, World Championship Mode was built around head-to-head competition, the series' long-running answer to the real tournament scene.

For a series completist or a Yu-Gi-Oh! fan who collects Japanese releases, this version is the one that matches the OCG side of the game, with Japanese text and presentation, and it is an especially strong DS chapter of the World Championship line.
