Item Description
The elves of Wilt-Leaf Wood keep extending the palisade around their sanctuary, hoping one day to wall in the entire forest, and Wooded Bastion is a snapshot of that patient, stubborn work. The land is just as patient on the battlefield: it taps for colorless mana, or you can pay one mana that is green or white and tap it to add two green, two white, or one of each.
That filtering is the whole point. One green-or-white source plus the Bastion becomes any mix of the two colors, which is exactly what a Selesnya deck needs when it is trying to cast double-white and double-green spells off the same mana base. It never enters tapped and never costs life, and in Commander it smooths out awkward draws that a basic simply can't fix.
Wooded Bastion debuted in Shadowmoor, the hybrid-mana set that introduced the filter lands, and this is the Double Masters printing, collector number 332, illustrated by Christopher Moeller, in non-foil.
