Magic: The Gathering single: Will the Wise. Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
In the opening episode of Stranger Things, Will Byers plays the cleric in the boys' Dungeons & Dragons campaign, Will the Wise. Secret Lair x Stranger Things turned that character into a Magic card, a legendary white-black Human that also goes by Wernog, Rider's Chaplain, the name you will find in Oracle searches.
For two mana you get a 1/2 that creates a little dilemma for the table. When it enters or leaves the battlefield, each opponent may investigate; any opponent who declines loses 1 life. Then you investigate once, plus once more for every opponent who took a Clue. Either way you come out ahead, gathering Clues to cash in for cards while your opponents decide whether a Clue is worth the help it gives you. Because it triggers on entering and leaving, blink and sacrifice decks double the payoff.
It also carries Partner—Friends forever, so it can share the command zone with another Friends forever legend, such as the rest of the Hawkins party from the same drop. This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 347, illustrated by Pauline Voss, in foil.
