Item Description
Even the fastest hedgehog alive needs a lift sometimes, and in Magic's Sonic the Hedgehog Secret Lair that lift comes from the Tornado, Sonic's Biplane. Under the crossover name sits Weatherlight, the legendary skyship whose crew carried Magic's Weatherlight Saga storyline, now repainted as the red biplane Sonic fans have known since the Genesis days.
On the battlefield it is a four-mana legendary artifact Vehicle, a 4/5 with flying and crew 3. Whenever it deals combat damage to a player, you look at the top five cards of your library and may take a historic card into your hand: an artifact, a legendary or a Saga. That makes it a natural fit for Vehicle decks, artifact piles and legends-matter Commander builds, where nearly every look finds something and the plane keeps refilling your hand every time it connects. A 4/5 flier is also a sturdy body to crew, hard to block and tough to trade with.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 2100, a borderless mythic in foil, illustrated by Tracy Yardley, the longtime Sonic the Hedgehog comics artist. That pedigree gives it real crossover appeal for Sonic collectors as well as Magic players.
