Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
Most planeswalker ultimates win slowly. Vraska, Golgari Queen's makes a single point of combat damage fatal: her −9 emblem says that whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to a player, that player loses the game. Getting there is half the fun, because the four-mana black-green planeswalker starts at 4 loyalty and her +2 climbs fast.
That +2 lets you sacrifice another permanent to gain 1 life and draw a card, which is pure value when the permanent is a Treasure, a Food, a fetched-out land or a creature that is going to the graveyard anyway. Her −3 destroys a nonland permanent with mana value 3 or less, a flexible answer to mana rocks, early creatures and cheap commanders that keeps her safe on the turn she lands. Sacrifice-themed Golgari decks get the most from her, since every sacrifice trigger you already care about now draws a card as well.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 90, with art by Mike Uziel, in foil, a striking alternate take on the Golgari queen for collectors who want something beyond the original Guilds of Ravnica art.
