Item Description
Baral, Chief of Compliance always plays like the cleverest person in the room, so it is fitting that Secret Lair x The Princess Bride recast him as Vizzini, the film's self-proclaimed genius who is sure he has thought of everything. The card is printed under the name Vizzini, Criminal Mastermind, in a borderless treatment, and its flavor text is his famous one-word catchphrase.
Underneath, it is Baral's familiar rules text. This two-mana 1/3 legendary Human Wizard makes your instant and sorcery spells cost one generic mana less, and whenever a spell or ability you control counters a spell, you may draw a card and then discard one. Every counterspell becomes cheaper and also filters your hand, which is why Baral is a popular commander for spellslinger and counter-heavy blue decks, and a useful support piece in any blue deck full of instants and sorceries.
This is the Secret Lair Drop borderless printing, collector number 1447, illustrated by Dmitry Burmak, printed as Vizzini, Criminal Mastermind, in foil.
