Item Description

Victreebel is a carnivorous pitcher plant with a hunter's instincts, and its Jungle card plays the part. Lure, for a single Grass Energy, lets you pick one of your opponent's Benched Pokémon and switch it into the Active spot. Acid then deals 20 damage and, on heads, keeps the Defending Pokémon from retreating during your opponent's next turn. Drag a vulnerable Pokémon forward, then trap it there: a little two-step ambush that felt devious on the playground.

Jungle arrived in 1999 as the second English expansion after Base Set, bringing Pokémon like Victreebel that had been missing from the launch lineup, and its holos quickly became the chase cards of that first wave of the craze. Ken Sugimori, the artist behind the original Pokémon designs, illustrated this one, and the holofoil makes the gaping plant pop off the page.

This listing is the no-symbol error version of the Jungle holofoil Victreebel, card 14/64, a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 80 HP that evolves from Weepinbell. Early Unlimited prints of this holo left the factory without the Jungle set symbol, an error corrected later in the print run, which makes the no-symbol version a recognized variant for Jungle and error-card collectors.
