Hollywood Arts is putting on a show, and the stage is yours. Victorious: Time to Shine takes the Nickelodeon sitcom about Tori Vega and her friends at a performing arts high school in Los Angeles and turns it into a Kinect performance game, so your whole body becomes the controller as you sing, dance and act your way into the spotlight.

You start by creating your own performer and dressing them in outfits, with more styles unlocking as you progress. Each song is built from four short challenges: an acting scene, a music segment where you mimic playing an instrument, a singing section and a dance routine. Nail them and the pieces come together in a music video finale, set to songs from the series, with voice work from the show's cast keeping the Hollywood Arts atmosphere authentic.

Developed by High Voltage Software and published by D3Publisher in 2011, Time to Shine landed while Victorious was one of Nickelodeon's biggest hits, with a cast that included Victoria Justice and Ariana Grande before her pop stardom. The challenges are forgiving by design, which makes it easy for younger fans to jump in, and two players can team up or compete side by side, so it shines brightest at a sleepover in front of the TV.

It is a snapshot of a very specific moment, when Kinect was in living rooms everywhere and a hit teen sitcom could get its own motion-controlled game. For fans of the show, it is a fun piece of Victorious memorabilia that also plays.
