Item Description
Unwinding Clock doubles the work every artifact you own can do. The four-mana artifact untaps all artifacts you control during each other player's untap step, so in a four-player Commander game your mana rocks, artifact creatures and tap abilities reset on every opponent's turn, not just your own.
The applications pile up fast. Mana rocks like Sol Ring and the Signets give you mana to spend on instants and activated abilities while your opponents play. Artifact creatures that attacked on your turn are untapped in time to block on the next player's. Any artifact with a tap ability, from card-draw engines to damage dealers, fires once per turn around the table instead of once per round, which makes the Clock a quiet powerhouse in artifact-heavy decks.
This is the Commander 2018 printing, collector number 228, illustrated by Mike Bierek, in non-foil. Its flavor text, taken from Elspeth's journal, frames the clock as a mysterious find that gives the partisans hope, a fitting origin story for a card that keeps an artifact deck ticking.
