Item Description
Unholy Grotto is a land that refuses to let your Zombies stay buried. It taps for colorless mana like any utility land, but for one black mana and a tap, it puts target Zombie card from your graveyard on top of your library.
In a Zombie deck that means your best creature is never really gone. Lose a key lord or value creature to removal and the Grotto queues it up as your next draw, and over a long Commander game it turns every trade into a temporary setback. It also pairs nicely with self-mill: dump Zombies into the graveyard, then pick out the exact one you need. The card first appeared in Onslaught in 2002, a block crowded with creature-type themes, and it has been a Zombie tribal staple ever since.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 1462, from the Secret Lair x Creepshow drop in the 2023 Spookydrop, a nod to the 1982 horror anthology from George A. Romero and Stephen King. It is a borderless full-art poster-style card printed double-faced with Unholy Grotto on both sides, in foil, with art by Cabrol & Scott Okumura.
