Magic: The Gathering single: Toxin Sliver. Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
"It doesn't need to use its venom—it just needs you to know it can." Toxin Sliver turns that threat into a rule for the whole hive: whenever a Sliver deals combat damage to a creature, that creature is destroyed, and it can't be regenerated.
In a Sliver deck, that means every member of the swarm, no matter how small, trades up with anything it touches in combat. Blockers become a losing proposition, and attackers think twice before running into your 1/1s. Note that the trigger cares about any Sliver, so it is a hive-wide effect in the truest sense. Commander players building around The First Sliver or Sliver Overlord appreciate a lord-style effect that makes the team scarier without needing every Sliver to be large, and the 3/3 body for four mana is solid on its own. The card first appeared in Legions, part of the original Onslaught-era Sliver wave.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 635, an extended-art Secret Lair bonus card illustrated by Lars Grant-West, in foil.
