"I like problems that can be solved with an axe." Torbran, Thane of Red Fell solves most of them by making every red source you control hit harder. If a red source you control would deal damage to an opponent or a permanent an opponent controls, it deals that much plus 2 instead.

The math gets silly quickly. A 1/1 Goblin token now hits for 3. Lightning Bolt hits for 5. Anything that deals damage to each opponent, like Guttersnipe, adds 2 to every single instance across the table, which is why Torbran is such a popular piece in red Commander decks built around tokens, pingers and burn. A modest 2/4 body for four mana, he wants to sit safely behind an army and quietly turn every attack into a much bigger problem. The Dwarf noble first appeared in Throne of Eldraine, and he has been a red go-wide favorite ever since.

This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 678, a Secret Lair bonus card with new art by Wayne Reynolds, in foil. Reynolds' dense, battle-hardened character work suits a dwarf whose whole philosophy is hitting things.
