Item Description
Somebody gave Thrun a keyboard. This Secret Lair Drop printing turns the Last Troll into a borderless, full-art card and swaps his solemn original flavor text for a chat log in which a user named Thrun_TheLastTroll brags that a new account means he can't be kept banned. A troll who refuses to stay banned is a joke that lands on two levels, and it fits a creature that's notoriously hard to get rid of.
Because the rules are just as stubborn. Thrun can't be countered, has hexproof, and regenerates for {1}{G}, so a 4/4 for four mana shrugs off counterspells, targeted removal and most destroy effects. Opponents need sacrifice effects, exile sweepers or wraths that stop regeneration to clear him. In Commander that makes him an ideal Equipment and Aura carrier: you can still target him with your own spells, and he keeps your investment safe.
This is Secret Lair Drop collector number 810, a mythic illustrated by Jakub Kasper and Scott Okumura, in foil, and it was released in 2024 as a Secret Lair bonus card. It's a great conversation piece for players who appreciate Magic's sense of humor.
