Item Description
The Locust God turns ordinary card draw into a swarm. First printed in Hour of Devastation as one of the three gods Nicol Bolas brought to Amonkhet, it's a six-mana blue-red 4/4 flier, and every card you draw creates a 1/1 blue and red Insect token with flying and haste.
Its own looting ability, four mana to draw a card and then discard one, means spare mana always turns into another hasty flier. In Commander, cantrips, draw-two spells and wheel effects suddenly produce whole squadrons, and an opponent's symmetrical draw spell can hand you an army too. The God is also hard to keep down: when it dies, it returns to its owner's hand at the beginning of the next end step, ready to be recast. Izzet players who love drawing cards have a commander that rewards every single one of them.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 903, a full-art borderless foil illustrated by See Machine.
