Item Description
Dungeons & Dragons players know the Book of Exalted Deeds as a legendary holy tome, and Adventures in the Forgotten Realms turned it into a three-mana white legendary artifact that can stop you from losing at all.
At the beginning of your end step, if you gained 3 or more life that turn, it creates a 3/3 white Angel with flying. Then comes the trick: pay three white mana, tap and exile the Book, and put an enlightened counter on target Angel, which gains “You can't lose the game and your opponents can't win the game.” The ability works only at sorcery speed, but as long as that Angel survives you are effectively untouchable. Life-gain decks keep the Angels coming, and any Angel deck already has a target ready for the counter.
This is the Adventures in the Forgotten Realms ampersand promo, stamped with the Dungeons & Dragons ampersand, illustrated by Daniel Ljunggren and offered here in foil. In Commander it slots neatly into mono-white lifegain and Angel decks.
