Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
Tepig was the Fire-type starter of the Unova region in Pokémon Black and White, and the round, rosy fire pig won fans over instantly. Its evolution line runs through Pignite to the imposing Fire and Fighting-type Emboar, but plenty of collectors will tell you the little pig is the cutest stage of the bunch.
On the card, Tepig is a 70 HP Basic Pokémon with a single attack, Ember, which deals 30 damage and requires discarding an Energy attached to it. The art comes from Ken Sugimori, the longtime lead character designer of the Pokémon series, giving this small promo a direct line to the franchise's founding look. The card's Pokédex entry adds a charming detail: Tepig blows fire from its nose, and when it catches a cold, the flame turns to pitch-black smoke.
The McDonald's Promos 2011 set is a fun corner of TCG history: a 12-card set of Unova starters and friends handed out with Happy Meals as the fifth generation launched. This is the foil Tepig, card 3 of 12, a bright, nostalgic pickup for Unova fans and anyone chasing a complete McDonald's promo run.
