Team Rocket finally has the Pokémon it always wanted. Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex is a Basic Psychic Pokémon ex with a towering 280 HP, a fitting twist for a Pokémon whose story has been tangled up with Giovanni since the very first Pokémon movie. Here, the clone serves the organization that tried to control it.
It plays like the payoff for a fully committed Rocket deck. Its Power Saver Ability means it can't attack unless you have 4 or more Team Rocket's Pokémon in play, but once that crew is assembled, Erasure Ball hits for 160 and lets you discard up to 2 Energy from your Benched Pokémon for 60 more damage each, topping out at 280. Building a board that can afford those discards is part of the fun.
This is the Destined Rivals printing, collector number 213/182, the Ultra Rare full-art holofoil illustrated by aky CG Works and numbered beyond the main set. Destined Rivals brought back the Team Rocket's naming that collectors remember from the 2000 Team Rocket expansion, and this Mewtwo is a headline piece for any Rocket-themed binder page.
