Item Description

The Super Nintendo Classic Edition is Nintendo's lovingly curated tribute to one of the greatest consoles ever made, released in 2017 and packed with 21 pre-loaded SNES games that represent the absolute cream of the 16-bit era. Out of the box you get stone-cold classics like Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Donkey Kong Country, F-Zero, and the long-awaited Star Fox 2 — a game Nintendo famously shelved in the nineties and finally gave the world its proper debut right here. The hardware is a faithful miniaturized replica of the original Super Nintendo, built with the same rounded grey-and-purple aesthetic that defined an entire generation of living rooms.

What makes the SNES Classic stand out from similar plug-and-play nostalgia hardware is the sheer quality of its library. These aren't filler titles — this is a handpicked roster of games that routinely appear on "greatest of all time" lists, spanning platformers, RPGs, action-adventure, racing, and fighting. Super Mario RPG, Mega Man X, Earthbound, Street Fighter II Turbo, and Final Fantasy III (VI) are all here, which means you're getting genuine depth, not just a highlight reel. Each game runs through an accurate emulation engine, and you can save your progress at any point — a feature that makes revisiting these longer adventures far more accessible than the originals ever were.

The included controller is a faithful recreation of the iconic SNES gamepad, and the aftermarket HDMI cable means this console connects directly to any modern television without the adapter headaches that come with tracking down original hardware. For anyone who owns vintage SNES cartridges and consoles, this is a completely different experience — curated, convenient, and immediately ready to play on whatever screen you have at home.

This one is ideal for anyone who wants the soul of the Super Nintendo without the hassle of sourcing original hardware, and especially for fans who want Star Fox 2 and Earthbound accessible in one tidy package.
