Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
Some defensive cards ask for one big payment. Sphere of Safety sends an invoice for every single attacker. Creatures can't attack you or your planeswalkers unless their controller pays {X} for each one, where X is the number of enchantments you control, Sphere included. Pile up enchantments and the price of attacking you climbs so high that opponents start looking for easier targets.
In multiplayer Commander, that is exactly the point. An enchantress deck drawing cards off every enchantment it casts can raise the toll turn after turn, and a table that has to spend its whole turn's mana to swing one creature at you will usually swing at someone else. It turns a slow, value-focused deck into a fortress, buying the time you need to assemble whatever win condition you are building toward.
This is the Commander 2016 printing, collector number 77, illustrated by Slawomir Maniak, in non-foil. It brings the original Return to Ravnica art into Commander 2016, alongside its sly flavor line about the Rakdos assuming everyone is eager to join their revels.
