Item Description

School is cancelled, the town is buried in snow, and Cartman has declared himself Grand Wizard King of an all-out war between humans and elves. That is about as much explanation as South Park: Snow Day! needs. You play the New Kid once again, but where The Stick of Truth and The Fractured But Whole were turn-based RPGs, this time the action is fully 3D, real-time and built for a team of up to four.

Missions play out on Cartman's war map as a run of chaotic arena skirmishes that end in boss fights, including a showdown with Princess Kenny. Your toolkit mixes melee weapons, ranged attacks and the kind of special powers only South Park could invent, fueled not by mana but by a meter that fills as you get angrier. Between battles, Timmy deals out randomly generated upgrade cards, Henrietta offers dark ritual cards that trade risk for power, and the Wizard King himself hands you a cheat card with limited uses at the start of each run, so no two runs build quite the same way. Dark matter found in levels makes your New Kid tougher over time.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone are among the credited writers, and the jokes land with the show's familiar mix of absurdity and juvenile glee, from errands for Jimbo to Kyle-bashing objectives. Critics were mixed, many calling it a step back from the RPGs and thin when played solo, but it is clearly at its best with friends, where four players piling into the same snowy brawl turn it into a loud, silly party game with the show's fingerprints all over it.
