Item Description

A target stands on a balcony well over a kilometer away. Before you squeeze the trigger you are reading the wind, compensating for bullet drop and watching the guard patrols below, because one careless shot will bring the whole compound down on your position. That moment is what Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is built around, and CI Games designed this sequel to stretch it as far as it will go.

You play Raven, a contract sniper assassin working through a single-player campaign set in a war-torn corner of the Middle East. Each region is an open sandbox map with a slate of contracts and optional objectives, and how you reach a target is up to you: a patient approach from extreme range, a quiet infiltration on foot, or something considerably louder when the plan goes sideways. Some shots stretch beyond 1,000 meters, where the scope, the terrain and the drift of every round become part of the puzzle, and a slow-motion bullet camera rewards a perfect hit by following it all the way home.

Built in CryEngine, the game puts its effort into sightlines. Cliffs, rooftops and ridgelines all suggest possible perches, and scouting a base, marking threats and picking the order of your shots is half the satisfaction. It is a slower, more deliberate shooter than most of its peers, closer in spirit to a stealth puzzle than an action blockbuster, and it never punishes you for taking your time.

Contracts 2 is the long-range specialist of the series, the entry that leans hardest into the mathematics and patience of a true sniper fantasy. On PS4 it is a satisfying pick for players who enjoy the planning behind a shot as much as the shot itself.
