Every cartridge's shell, label and board are checked for authenticity when it comes into the store, and it's tested before it's listed. It ships in a collector's bag or a hard plastic case.

Item Description

A spatial distortion full of demons has opened over Antarctica, and humanity's answer is a team of soldiers and scientists in high-tech Demonica suits, sent straight into it. Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux is the expanded 3DS version of Atlus's 2010 DS cult classic, and its hard science-fiction spin on the series is unlike anything else in the franchise. The anomaly, known as the Schwarzwelt, swallows your ship, the Red Sprite, on arrival, and from that moment the crew is surviving by its wits in a world shaped by humanity's darkest impulses.

This is a first-person dungeon crawler in the classic tradition, with grid-based mazes you explore square by square across a series of sectors, each with a wildly different theme. Demons are recruited through negotiation, by answering their questions and offering what they want, and then fused into stronger forms. Defeated allies can leave behind Demon Sources that pass their skills on to future fusions, and demons who share your alignment join in with co-op attacks when you hit a weakness, which turns party building into a satisfying puzzle.

The story is a grim, morally complex tale that pulls you between the visions of crew members like the idealistic Zelenin and the hot-headed Jimenez, and the Law, Chaos and Neutral paths lead to very different futures for the planet. Arthur, the Red Sprite's coolly logical AI, keeps the mission on track as the sectors grow stranger and the crew's numbers shrink. The atmosphere is dense and the stakes are existential, and the rearranged soundtrack keeps the unease simmering.

Redux is the definitive version. It adds Alex, a mysterious Demonica-clad woman who hunts the protagonist through the Schwarzwelt, along with new story content, additional endings and a brand-new dungeon, the Womb of Grief. Quality-of-life improvements and selectable difficulty settings make the notoriously tough original far more approachable without blunting what made it special, and it is the version to play, even for players who conquered the DS original.
