Item Description

Every Sliver on the table becomes a tiny millstone. Screeching Sliver is a one-mana blue 1/1 that gives all Slivers the ability to tap and make target player mill a card. One Screecher is a curiosity, but a board of six or seven Slivers is six or seven cards leaving a library every turn cycle, and because any player can be the target, the same hive can grind down an opponent or fill your own graveyard for value.

That shared hive mind is what makes Slivers so much fun to build around. The ability goes to every Sliver on the battlefield, including ones your opponents control, so a Sliver mirror turns into a race of who can mill faster. In a Sliver Commander deck it turns a wide board into a second win condition at almost no deck-space cost, and the Time Spiral flavor text captures the whole experience: "What wears down my people most, I think, is not the danger, but the endless screeching outside our camp."

This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 622, an extended-art foil illustrated by Stuart Griffin and released as a Secret Lair bonus card.
