Item Description
Saw in Half is part removal spell, part magic trick, and the fun is deciding which one you need. This three-mana black instant destroys target creature, and if it dies this way, its controller creates two token copies of it with half the original's power and toughness, rounded up.
Aim it at your own creature and it becomes a value engine. A creature with a death trigger fires it as it dies, the two copies bring any enters-the-battlefield ability back twice, and small creatures barely shrink: a 1/1 comes back as two 1/1 copies. In Commander, that means doubling up on utility creatures, token makers and death-trigger engines for three mana. Aimed at an opponent's creature, it is still removal that leaves them with two weaker versions, which can be the right answer to a single huge threat. The flavor text plays up the magician's act: "The audience always loves it, but volunteers are divided."
This is the Unfinity galaxy foil printing, collector number 374, illustrated by Sebastian Giacobino. The galaxy foil treatment, with its starry, sparkling finish, suits Unfinity's intergalactic theme-park setting.
