Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
For a lot of decks the graveyard is a second hand, and Rest in Peace takes that hand away for two mana. When this white enchantment enters, it exiles every graveyard, and for as long as it stays on the battlefield, any card or token that would go to a graveyard from anywhere is exiled instead. Reanimation targets, flashback spells, escape cards and creatures that grow by counting the graveyard all lose their footing at once.
It is as much fun to build around as it is to bring in against a graveyard deck. The classic pairing is Helm of Obedience: the Helm mills an opponent until enough cards or a creature card hit their graveyard, and with Rest in Peace out nothing ever does, so their entire library goes to exile. It also blanks death triggers that care about creatures dying, since nothing technically reaches the graveyard. Since its debut in Return to Ravnica it has been white's cleanest answer to graveyard strategies.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 96, illustrated by Jakob Eirich, from the Every Dog Has Its Day drop, offered here in non-foil. Its flavor text tells of a dog named Lucy who, after a lifetime of chasing balls and rolling in puddles, lies down in the sun content at last, which turns a harsh hate card into something gentle and sweet.
