Item Description

Resident Evil has always asked you to survive Umbrella's mess. Operation Raccoon City asks you to clean it up. Set during the outbreak of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, this squad-based third-person shooter casts you as a member of Wolfpack, an Umbrella Security Service team sent into the dying city to recover samples of the G-virus and erase every trace of the corporation's guilt, including the people who might talk.

The Wolfpack roster is built around specialists with their own abilities and gear: Lupo the hard-charging leader, Vector the recon expert, Beltway the demolitions man, Bertha the medic, Spectre the surveillance specialist and Four Eyes, the field scientist. Choosing your role and combining abilities with your squad is the heart of the game, which was designed around four-player co-op and team play. Fights turn into chaotic three-way battles as zombies, bio-organic weapons and U.S. government Spec Ops soldiers all collide, and a bitten teammate can turn on the squad if nobody gets them an antiviral spray in time.

For Resident Evil fans, the fun is in seeing familiar ground from the other side. You will cross paths with the Tyrant hunting the police station, run into Nemesis, and come face to face with characters from the original games, including a fateful encounter with rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy where the choice of what happens next is yours. Its online versus play was built around ideas like Heroes mode, which pitted familiar faces from the series against Umbrella's operatives.

Developed by Slant Six Games and published by Capcom in 2012, Operation Raccoon City drew mixed reviews for trading survival horror for squad shooting, and it has since become a curiosity among Resident Evil spin-offs. That is exactly its appeal now: an alternate, villain's-eye tour of the series' most famous night, playable on Xbox 360 the way it was released.

About the game

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is a third-person shooter and is a spin-off of the long-running Resident Evil series. Unlike the main games in the series, it is less of a survival horror game and more of an action-packed shooter. The game includes twelve playable characters, however the players can choose only four characters for the online modes. Each team member has their own special role and abilities.
