Item Condition
This is a foil single card from the Dragon Vault set. The card shows typical handling and play wear consistent with a foil single of its age, which may include light surface scuffing, minor edge wear, or slight bending from storage. As with all foil cards, the holographic surface can be more susceptible to visible scratching under direct light. Please refer to the provided photos for the exact details of the item's condition.
Item Description
Rayquaza needs no introduction to anyone who has spent time with the Pokemon franchise. The Sky High Pokemon and legendary guardian of the ozone layer, Rayquaza has been one of the most visually striking and narratively powerful creatures in the series since its debut in the third generation. That long, serpentine body coiled against a storm-charged sky has fueled countless decks, binders, and display cases over the years — and this foil card captures exactly why collectors keep coming back to it.
Dragon Vault was a compact, specialty set released in 2012 as a standalone mini-set available exclusively through blister packs. With only 20 cards in the entire run, every slot in the set carries real weight. Dragon Vault was built around a single thematic pillar — Dragon-type Pokemon — arriving at a moment when the Dragon type had just been formally introduced to the TCG. That makes it a meaningful snapshot in the trading card game's evolution, a small but purposeful release that gave Dragon-type fans their first dedicated collection to chase.
At number 11 out of 20, Rayquaza sits at the heart of the set. The Dragon Vault cards lean into clean, dramatic artwork that lets each Pokemon command the frame, and Rayquaza's card is no exception. The foil treatment on these cards catches light beautifully, making the design feel dynamic and alive in a way that a standard print simply can't match.
Because Dragon Vault was a short-print specialty set with a limited card count, completing it is an achievable goal that still requires genuine effort. That combination — attainable but not trivial — is part of what makes sets like this so satisfying to pursue. Rayquaza's enduring popularity as a fan favorite only adds to the card's appeal for anyone keeping a close eye on long-term collectibility.
This card is a natural fit for dedicated Pokemon TCG collectors, Dragon-type enthusiasts, and anyone building toward a complete Dragon Vault set. Rayquaza fans who want a foil version of one of the franchise's most iconic Legendaries will find this a worthy addition to any collection.
