Item Description
Few platformers have ever been as musical as Rayman Legends. Its most famous stage, Castle Rock, sends Rayman sprinting, punching and leaping through a castle in perfect time to a cover of "Black Betty", every jump landing on the beat, and it is just one of several music levels that turn the game into a playable concert.
Ubisoft Montpellier's follow-up to Rayman Origins keeps the gorgeous hand-drawn look of the UbiArt Framework engine and pushes everything further. Rayman, Globox and the Teensies are joined by Barbara the barbarian princess, and the hub is a gallery of paintings that pull you into worlds such as Teensies in Trouble, Toad Story, 20,000 Lums Under the Sea, Fiesta de los Muertos and Olympus Maximus. Rescuing captured Teensies unlocks more of the adventure, while remixed "invaded" versions of levels challenge you to race through them at speed. Christophe Héral's playful, eclectic score sets the tone throughout.
The Vita version shares a special feature with the Wii U original. In certain stages you take control of Murphy, a helpful green fly, by touch, tapping and swiping to cut ropes, shift platforms and tickle enemies while Rayman runs the course. Those stages turn the handheld's touchscreen into a real part of the level design rather than a gimmick, an interaction the other versions reduced to a simple button prompt.
Originally planned as a Wii U exclusive before going multiplatform, Rayman Legends earned wide acclaim for its precise controls, gleeful animation and constant stream of new ideas, and many players rank it among the finest 2D platformers of its generation. On the Vita it makes for a showpiece of the OLED screen, with levels short enough for a quick session and enough hidden secrets and challenges to keep a completionist busy for weeks.

About the game
Originally thought as an exclusive title, Rayman Legends used the Wii U Gamepad for some functionalities. After going multiplatform, the Wii U and PlayStation Vita versions of Rayman Legends gave the ability to control Murphy in certain stages through touch controls. This interaction was removed from the other versions.
