Magic: The Gathering single: Rain of Filth. Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. The image is a stock photo of this printing — use the Request Additional Pictures button and we'll photograph the card itself. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Some cards get a Secret Lair glow-up; Rain of Filth got a punchline. The flavor text on this borderless printing belongs to Dugan the Thrifty, who grumbles, "Ugh! I just bought this tunic . . . ." It is the perfect deadpan reaction to a spell that literally makes it rain filth, and the rainbow foil finish makes the joke shine.
Under the humor sits a wild little black instant. For one black mana, every land you control gains "Sacrifice this land: Add {B}" until end of turn, turning your whole mana base into an emergency reserve. Cash it in for a massive X spell, or let land-recursion pieces like Crucible of Worlds and Ramunap Excavator bring the sacrificed lands back afterward. Commander decks built around The Gitrog Monster, which draws a card whenever land cards hit your graveyard, can turn one cast into a burst of mana and a refilled hand at the same time.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 1547, illustrated by Graham Yarrington, in borderless rainbow foil.
