Item Description
Post Malone's father is Rich Post, and Secret Lair leaned into the joke by renaming K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth for this drop. The card underneath is a serious mono-black commander. K'rrik costs four generic plus three Phyrexian black mana, each payable with black mana or 2 life, so it can hit the battlefield far earlier than its seven-mana cost suggests. It is a 2/2 with lifelink that gets a +1/+1 counter whenever you cast a black spell.
Its real engine is the static ability: for each black mana symbol in a cost, you may pay 2 life rather than pay that mana. Suddenly every black spell and ability in your deck can be paid for with life, which opens up explosive turns where you cast far more than your lands could cover, then recover through lifelink and drain effects. Mono-black decks full of rituals, cheap removal and life-swing cards come alive with it in the command zone.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing from the 2022 Secret Lair x Post Malone: Backstage Pass drop, collector number 1186, illustrated by Darren Tan and printed under the name Post, Son of Rich, offered here in non-foil or foil.
