Item Description

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with lacquer and gold, turning every crack into part of the object's beauty. Sony and Sucker Punch built the Ghost of Yōtei Gold Limited Edition around that idea, and the result is one of the most striking console designs PlayStation has released. The gold kintsugi-style detailing is drawn from Atsu's Ghost mask, Mount Yōtei sits at the heart of the artwork, and a maker's seal engraved with the PlayStation shapes is tucked onto the back of the top cover, a small touch that rewards a closer look.

The design celebrates Ghost of Yōtei, Sucker Punch's 2025 follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima. Set in 1603 in the untamed land of Ezo, today's Hokkaido, it follows Atsu, a lone warrior hunting the Yōtei Six in the shadow of the mountain. Sony described the kintsugi theme as a nod to beauty in imperfection and to Atsu's journey of healing and resilience, which gives this console a story that goes well beyond a color swap.

Underneath the artwork is the full PS5 Slim experience: a custom SSD that cuts load times dramatically, ray tracing, high-frame-rate gaming and a DualSense controller with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The Slim trims the size of the original PS5 without giving up performance, and the system plays the vast majority of PS4 games too. Astro Bot, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Demon's Souls and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart are the kind of showcases this hardware was built for.

As a centerpiece under the TV or on a collection shelf, the gold accents catch the light and tell the story of the game the console was made for. It is PlayStation hardware with real artistic intent behind it.
