Item Description
A one-mana instant that deals 2 damage to any target sounds like a classic Shock, and then Play with Fire adds a twist: if a player is dealt damage this way, you scry 1. Point it at a creature and it is efficient removal for small threats; point it at an opponent's face and you get to smooth out your next draw at the same time.
That flexibility is what makes it a natural fit for red aggro decks and burn-heavy builds, where every point of damage matters and a little card selection keeps the pressure coming. It can finish off a planeswalker, pick off a mana creature on turn one, or close out a game with the last two points, all at instant speed.
Play with Fire comes from Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, illustrated by Svetlin Velinov, and its flavor text has plenty of devilish charm: “Devils find human dwellings to be oppressively cold, dark, and unburnt.” This is the Promo Pack printing, collector number 390, in non-foil.
