Item Description

Piplup is all puffed-up pride on tiny legs. Its Pokédex entry describes a clumsy walker that keeps tumbling over, then puffs out its chest as if nothing happened, and that mix of dignity and slapstick is exactly why the Sinnoh starter has kept such a loyal following since Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

This is the ME02: Phantasmal Flames printing, card 098/094, an Illustration Rare illustrated by Jiro Sasumo. Illustration Rares trade the standard card layout for full-bleed artwork that places the Pokémon in a scene rather than a box, and the secret number beyond the set's 094 cards marks it as one of the set's special art pulls.

It is a handy card in play too. Call for Support costs a single Colorless Energy and searches your deck for a Supporter card, which makes this 70-HP Basic Water Pokémon a low-cost way to find the Supporter your turn depends on, while Tackle offers 20 damage for two Colorless Energy.
