Item Description
Atsuko Nishida created Pikachu’s original design, so a Pikachu illustrated by her carries a special kind of authority, and Radiant Collection RC7 is exactly that. Her artwork gets the full Radiant Collection treatment, a shimmering foil that runs across the entire card so the illustration glows from edge to edge.
The Radiant Collection debuted as a 25-card subset tucked inside Legendary Treasures, the 2013 finale of the Black & White era, and its tight checklist of RC1 through RC25 makes it a satisfying set to complete. The card text keeps to the basics: Thundershock, for one Lightning Energy, does 10 damage and Paralyzes the Defending Pokémon on a heads, and Tail Whap hits for 20 with two Colorless. The Pokédex entry is a sweet one: “It occasionally uses an electric shock to recharge a fellow Pikachu that is in a weakened state.”
This is the Legendary Treasures Radiant Collection printing, RC7/RC25, a foil illustrated by Atsuko Nishida. On a checklist full of fan favorites, a Pikachu drawn by the artist who first gave it shape is a natural highlight.
