What happens when the most famous Pokémon of all gets a Tera crystal crown? Surging Sparks answered with Pikachu ex, and this full-art Ultra Rare version gives that idea the entire card to shine.

On the table, Pikachu ex is a 200-HP Basic built to take a punch. Resolute Heart keeps it in play with 10 HP when an attack would Knock it Out from full HP, and as a Tera Pokémon ex it takes no damage from attacks while it sits on your Bench. Topaz Bolt then cashes in with 300 damage for one Grass, one Lightning and one Metal Energy, discarding three Energy afterward, so it suits decks that can feed it mixed Energy fast and keep backup attackers ready. When it does go down, your opponent takes two Prize cards, so protecting that full-HP buffer is the whole game plan.

This is the SV08: Surging Sparks printing, card 219/191, a full-art Ultra Rare holofoil illustrated by aky CG Works. The full-art layout lets the 3D-rendered artwork run edge to edge, and as a secret-numbered card beyond the set's 191 it makes a showpiece for a Surging Sparks master set or a Pikachu-only binder page.
