Item Description
In Avatar: The Last Airbender, the Ember Island Players are the theater troupe that stages a gloriously inaccurate play about Aang and his friends while the real heroes squirm in the audience. A creature that pretends to be whatever is in front of it is the perfect casting choice for that joke, and this Phantasmal Image comes from the Secret Lair x Avatar: The Last Airbender drop built around the episode, carrying the flavor name Absolutely Accurate Actor.
The card underneath is a blue all-star. For two mana it enters as a copy of any creature on the battlefield, yours or an opponent's, at a discount most clone effects can't touch. The one weakness is part of the act: it is an Illusion and is sacrificed as soon as it becomes the target of a spell or ability. In Commander that is rarely a problem, because the value comes up front, from copying an enters-the-battlefield creature for a second trigger or borrowing the scariest body on the table.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 2306, a borderless foil illustrated by Arou.
