Item Description
Phanpy has been charming trainers since Pokémon Gold and Silver: a round little blue elephant with oversized ears and a trunk always ready for mischief, and the starting point for the tough, tusked Donphan. It is the kind of Pokémon that makes people smile the second they flip a card over, which is exactly why the illustration rare treatment suits it so well.
Illustration rares are all about the artwork. Instead of a small art box above the text, the illustration fills the card as a complete scene, and Saboteri's take on Phanpy turns a humble Basic into something you want to keep face-up in a binder. On the table it is an 80 HP Basic Fighting Pokémon with Headbutt for 20 damage on a single Fighting Energy, but nobody chases this one for its attack. It is a collector's piece from Surging Sparks, the late-2024 Scarlet & Violet expansion, and a lovely pickup for anyone building a Phanpy and Donphan line or a binder of the set's illustration rares.
