Magic: The Gathering single: Orcus, Prince of Undeath, from AFR Ampersand Promos. Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
Orcus, Prince of Undeath is a demon lord straight out of Dungeons & Dragons lore, and he plays like one. He's a black-red 5/3 with flying and trample whose X cost decides how big his arrival is. When he enters, you choose: every other creature gets -X/-X until end of turn and you lose X life, or you return up to X creature cards with total mana value X or less from your graveyard to the battlefield, and they gain haste.
That flexibility is the appeal. Early on he can sweep away a board of small creatures; later, pump in enough mana and he drags a whole squad back from the dead to swing alongside him that same turn. In Commander he leads or supports Rakdos graveyard and sacrifice decks, giving them a sweeper and a mass reanimation spell on a single evasive body.
Adventures in the Forgotten Realms promo-pack cards carried the D&D ampersand as their stamp. This is the Adventures in the Forgotten Realms ampersand-stamped promo printing, illustrated by Andrew Mar, in foil.
