Item Description

Fifty issues in, Nintendo Power marked the milestone with a Zelda adventure that fit in a pocket. Volume 50 gave its July 1993 cover to The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, the shipwreck story that strands Link on Koholint Island with a sleeping Wind Fish, a girl named Marin who sings by the shore, and a string of surprise cameos from across Nintendo's worlds.

The milestone issue shows a magazine juggling three systems at full speed. WWF Royal Rumble, Run Saber, E.V.O.: Search for Eden and Bubsy fill the Super NES pages, Mighty Final Fight and Bubble Bobble Part 2 hold down the NES, and the Star Fox comic continues its run. Now Playing weighs in on everything from Mario Is Missing! to Ultima: The False Prophet, Classified Information turns up codes for Cybernator and Mega Man V, and Counselors' Corner helps with Shadowrun and Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose!

Link's Awakening proved a handheld Zelda could stand beside its console siblings, with a dreamlike tone all its own. A milestone number paired with a milestone game makes this cover a special find for Zelda and Game Boy collectors.
