Item Description

Konami's The Adventures of Batman & Robin looked and sounded like an episode of Batman: The Animated Series you could play, and Nintendo Power Volume 68 put it on the cover of the January 1995 issue. The feature heads into a Super NES action game built around the show's rogues gallery, with the Joker, Two-Face, Poison Ivy and the Riddler among the villains, and a gadget loadout you choose before each mission.

The issue lands right after the 1994 holiday rush, and it shows. Full coverage runs through The Lion King, Enix's Robotrek, Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, Street Racer and Animaniacs, plus Game Boy versions of NBA Jam and Madden 95. The Take 2 reviews revisit X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse, Lemmings 2: The Tribes and Brutal: Paws of Fury, Counselors' Corner digs into Demon's Crest, Illusion of Gaia and Mortal Kombat II, and a Virtual Boy update offers an early look at the red-and-black 3D system Nintendo would launch later that year.

For a Batman collector, it's a vivid reminder of how big The Animated Series was in the mid-'90s. For a Super NES fan, it's a dense snapshot of the console's late library at full strength.
