Item Description

Four new challengers stepped into the ring in the summer of 1994, and Nintendo Power Volume 62 gave them the spotlight. Super Street Fighter II headlines the July issue, the Super NES version of Capcom's update that brought Cammy, Fei Long, Dee Jay and T. Hawk into the World Warrior lineup and gave fighting fans a whole new set of matchups to learn.

The rest of the issue is packed with mid-nineties history. There is coverage of Breath of Fire, Disney's The Jungle Book, Tetris 2 and Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls, the first part of a Secret of Mana special, a look at the Super Game Boy and a feature on Nintendo's "Play It Loud" campaign. Pak Watch even carries early news on Project Reality, the codename for the hardware that would become the Nintendo 64, which makes this issue a fascinating peek at the future arriving in the middle of the 16-bit boom.

For a Street Fighter devotee, a Nintendo Power collector or anyone who remembers studying move lists before a weekend tournament with friends, this one is a vivid trip back to the year fighting games ruled the arcade and the living room.
