Item Condition

This is Nintendo Power Volume 51, the Street Fighter II: Turbo cover issue, complete with its original fold-out poster. All pages are intact, with minimal edge and spine wear. Look over the photos for condition and details. It ships carefully packed and protected.

Item Description

For a year, Super NES players could only stare at M. Bison, Sagat, Vega and Balrog from the wrong side of the screen. Street Fighter II Turbo changed that, unlocking all four bosses as playable fighters, bringing the roster to twelve and adding a faster Turbo mode drawn from the arcade's Hyper Fighting revision. Nintendo Power Volume 51 put Capcom's upgrade on its August 1993 cover as it hit the system.

The rest of the issue is a snapshot of a crowded summer. Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Goof Troop, Alien 3 and Nigel Mansell's World Championship share the Super NES pages, Jurassic Park and King's Quest V turn up on the NES, and the Star Fox comic continues its run. Now Playing weighs in on Final Fight 2, Aliens vs. Predator and Super Baseball 2020, Classified Information digs up codes for Turtles in Time, Super Double Dragon and SimEarth, and Counselors' Corner helps with Inindo: Way of the Ninja and Final Fantasy Adventure.

Turbo is the version that kept Super NES owners hooked on Street Fighter well past the first cartridge, and this cover captures the moment the full cast was finally within reach. Set it next to Volume 38's Street Fighter II cover and you have Capcom's first two Super NES Street Fighter releases side by side.
