This is Nintendo Power Volume 39 (Issue #39), the August 1992 issue with Mario Paint on the cover, complete with its original fold-out poster. All pages are intact. Look over the photos for condition and details. It ships carefully packed and protected.

Item Description

In 1992 Nintendo put a mouse in the box and told Super NES owners to go make something. Nintendo Power Volume 39 gives Mario Paint the cover, and it captures a strange, wonderful moment when a game console doubled as a sketchbook, an animation desk and a music composer. Mario Paint came packaged with the Super NES Mouse, and its stamps, coloring pages, frame-by-frame animation tool and note-by-note music maker turned living rooms into creative studios, with the fly-swatting minigame Gnat Attack waiting for anyone who needed a break from art class.

The rest of the issue shows Nintendo running three platforms at full speed in mid-1992. Super NES coverage includes TMNT IV: Turtles in Time and Wings 2: Aces High. The NES still had fresh releases in Gargoyle's Quest II, Contra Force and Casino Kid 2, and Game Boy readers got Kirby's Dream Land, the debut of a pink puffball who went on to headline his own long-running series. The magazine's serialized Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Bros. comics run here too, and Classified Information serves up tips for Street Fighter II and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past during their first big year on the Super NES.

Kirby, the Turtles and a cursor-driven Mario sharing one table of contents make Volume 39 a cheerful, colorful piece of 16-bit history, the kind of issue that sends you straight back to doodling on a TV screen.
