Item Description

Before Killer Instinct 2 ever reached a home console, it was an arcade sensation, and Nintendo Power Volume 81 got readers close to the cabinet with exclusive arcade coverage. Rare's sequel brought new fighters like Kim Wu, Tusk and Maya into the fray, kept the combo-breaker system that made the original so explosive, and set the stage for the game that would later come home on the Nintendo 64 as Killer Instinct Gold.

This February 1996 issue has plenty more for Super NES players. Mega Man X3 headlines the features alongside Toy Story, MechWarrior 3050 and Syndicate, and Cranky Kong shares his greatest tips for Donkey Kong Country 2. Virtual Boy fans get Nester's Funky Bowling, Epic Center covers Breath of Fire II and news on Dragon Quest VI, and Counselors' Corner helps readers through Yoshi's Island and Secret of Evermore.

Fighting-game hype, late-era Super NES gems and the countdown to the Nintendo 64 all collide in one issue, which makes this a great find for anyone tracing Killer Instinct's history from arcade to living room.
