Item Description

By November 1996 the Nintendo 64 had arrived, yet Rare still had one more jungle adventure for the Super NES, and Nintendo Power Volume 90 gives it a proper send-off. Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! puts Dixie in the lead with her hefty baby cousin Kiddy Kong, roaming the Northern Kremisphere in search of the missing DK and Diddy. This issue maps out the hunt, from the Brothers Bear to the Banana Birds, with the strategy detail a game this packed with secrets demands.

What makes the issue special is where it sits in time. Alongside DKC3, the strategy pages jump into Wave Race 64 and an early look at Blast Corps, Super Mario 64 gets a set of Critical Info charts, and the Shadows of the Empire comic continues. Counselors' Corner splits its attention between Pilotwings 64 and Super Mario RPG, and there is even a feature on the Killer Instinct card game.

Old generation and new share every spread, which makes Volume 90 a rewarding piece for Rare collectors and anyone who lived through that handoff from 16-bit to 64-bit.
