Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.

Item Description

Nekusar plays the generous host until the bill arrives. At the beginning of each player's draw step, that player draws an additional card, and whenever an opponent draws a card, Nekusar deals 1 damage to that player. Every extra card your opponents enjoy chips away at their life total, and the table usually figures out the trap a few turns too late.

As a five-mana Grixis commander, a 2/4 Zombie Wizard, he is the face of the classic wheel deck. Wheel of Fortune and Windfall make everyone dump their hands and draw a fresh set, so each opponent takes a pile of damage at once, while Spiteful Visions and Underworld Dreams stack more punishment on top of every draw. Teferi's Puzzle Box turns each draw step into a fresh wave. It's a deck that wins by giving opponents exactly what they think they want.

This is the Secret Lair Drop printing from Death Is Temporary, Metal Is Forever, collector number 1301, a borderless foil illustrated by Mark Riddick. The drop dressed undead legends in heavy-metal style, and the lich king fits the theme perfectly.
