The cops are closing in, your heat level is climbing and a Blacklist rival is waiting at the end of the night. Need for Speed: Most Wanted 5-1-0 brings the attitude of EA's 2005 console hit to the PSP, but instead of shrinking an open city onto a UMD, the handheld version rebuilds the game around tight, event-driven racing that fits on-the-go play.

The goal is to climb a Blacklist of the 15 best street racers, beating them in order. You earn cash to buy and upgrade cars and respect to unlock each boss race, a one-on-one duel that caps every rung of the ladder. Along the way come circuit races, elimination events and tournaments. Driving recklessly raises your heat, bringing police cruisers that try to run you off the road, roadblocks and tougher units as the pressure builds, and the new Speedbreaker ability slows time so you can thread a tight corner or a gap in traffic. Performance upgrades make a real difference to how your car handles, and there is plenty of visual customization for those who like their rides loud.

Smooth visuals were a highlight for the PSP, and the soundtrack is packed with licensed tracks in classic mid-2000s Need for Speed fashion. Up to four players could race over local wireless. This Greatest Hits release is Sony's reissue for well-selling PSP games, and it is a straightforward way to play the portable side of Most Wanted, the entry that made police pursuits and the Blacklist central to the series' identity.
