Item Description
Few sports games have chased a movie feel as hard as NBA 2K17. Its MyCAREER story was written and directed by Aaron Covington, one of the writers of Creed, and it follows your created player from college into the NBA with Michael B. Jordan among the faces you meet along the way. Paul George fronts the standard edition, and the game around him is a high point of the series' PS4 years.
On the court, Visual Concepts tightened dribbling and shooting, gave every arena its own sound down to the bounce of the ball, and scanned real sneakers onto the players' feet. Critics responded with strong reviews, praising the presentation, the gameplay and the sheer volume of content. The booth rotates by arena, with voices including Kevin Harlan, Chris Webber, Doris Burke and Brent Barry, and the soundtrack was curated by Michael B. Jordan, Grimes, Imagine Dragons and Noah "40" Shebib.
The roster reaches well beyond the current league. Both the 1992 and 2016 U.S. Olympic teams are here, so the original Dream Team can take on the Rio squad, along with Australia's 2016 Olympic team and a large slate of EuroLeague clubs such as Real Madrid and CSKA Moscow. Franchise players got league expansion in MyGM and MyLEAGUE, letting you grow the NBA to as many as 36 teams through an expansion draft. Jordan, Magic and Bird against Durant, Kyrie and Melo is the kind of what-if matchup that keeps a basketball game on the shelf for years.
