Item Condition

Complete in box: the cartridge, the manual and the box, all original; anything beyond that is included only if you can see it in the photos. The photos are of this exact copy — look them over closely for its condition, packaging and details. Every cartridge's shell, label and board are checked for authenticity when it comes into the store, and it's tested before it's listed. It ships in a collector's bag or a hard plastic case.

Item Description

The first wave of Galaga swoops in, a Boss Galaga lowers its tractor beam, and you have half a second to decide whether to let it capture your fighter for a shot at the dual ship. Namco Museum 64 is built around moments like that: six arcade games from the company that helped define the golden age of the coin-op, gathered on a single Nintendo 64 cartridge.

The lineup is short and nearly all killer. Galaxian set the template in 1979 with swooping alien formations, and Galaga sharpened it into a quarter-eating classic. Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man cover the maze chase, the sequel adding new layouts and bouncing fruit. Dig Dug sends you tunneling through the dirt to deal with Pookas and Fygars by inflating them or dropping rocks on their heads, and Pole Position puts you on Fuji Speedway, qualifying lap first, then a race against the clock and the field. None of them needs a tutorial, and all of them reward years of practice.

Mass Media developed the collection for Namco Hometek in 1999, and it keeps things lean and direct: choose a game and you are playing. High scores can be saved to a Controller Pak, so your best Galaga run doesn't vanish when the power goes off, and the cartridge supports the Rumble Pak for a little extra feedback.

The appeal today is having these foundational games on the same hardware as the rest of your Nintendo 64 library, ready for a quick high-score attempt between longer sessions. Pole Position and Galaga sit a cartridge swap away from Mario Kart 64 and Star Fox 64, and playing them side by side is a neat way to see the arcade roots of the racers and shooters that filled the N64 era.
