Item Description

Picture Johnny Cage meeting his younger, cockier self and finding him insufferable. Mortal Kombat 11 builds its whole story on collisions like that. When Kronika, the Keeper of Time, begins rewriting history, fighters from the past spill into the present, young and veteran versions of Earthrealm's heroes stand side by side, and NetherRealm Studios' cinematic storytelling gets its wildest premise yet. Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is the edition that gathers that campaign, the Aftermath story expansion and every add-on fighter into one package, and it came to PlayStation 5 in 2020.

The fighting is deliberate and heavy. Fatal Blows give a struggling player one cinematic comeback swing per match, Krushing Blows reward specific punishes with bone-shattering X-ray close-ups, and custom Variations let you build your own loadouts of special moves for each fighter. Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Liu Kang, Kitana and the rest of the classic cast are joined by newcomers Geras, Cetrion and the Kollector.

With every addition, the roster reaches 37 fighters. Kombat Pack 1 brought Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, Sindel and guest stars Spawn, the Joker and the T-800 Terminator; Aftermath added Fujin, Sheeva and RoboCop, voiced by Peter Weller; and Kombat Pack 2 closed things out with Rain, Mileena and John Rambo, voiced by Sylvester Stallone. Aftermath also continues the story, sending Shang Tsung, Fujin and Nightwolf back through time to retrieve Kronika's Crown, and it brought back Friendships and Stage Fatalities for a dose of classic Mortal Kombat humor.

Solo players have plenty to chew on, from the rotating challenges of the Towers of Time to exploring Shang Tsung's island in the Krypt for gear, Fatalities and lore. On PS5, faster loading and sharper presentation make every Fatality as gruesome as NetherRealm intended. Couch versus is where it shines brightest, and with both story campaigns and the full guest list in one edition, this is the whole of MK11 in its final form.
